Jazzlegeplads med En Hemmelig Klub (DK)

Come and build the city's best jazz playground with the jazz-stronauts from En Hemmlig Klub 

Instead of putting melodic elements together to create new music, we use colored and patterned cardboard shapes that can be moved around, rearranged, stacked in new ways, knocked over, and put together into something completely new! This year, Aarhus Jazz Festival has teamed up with the artist duo En Hemmelig Klub. They are creating a jazz playground that you can meet in several different places during the festival. Inspired by the free improvisation and play with familiar elements of the jazz world, you can build huge cardboard constructions in the playground. As always, En Hemmelig Klub guarantees a celebration of free play, even when they turn into a jazz club. At this edition of the jazz playground, you can also enjoy a concert with Moussa Diallo Trio 'Cirkeline & Coco travel to Africa' at 1.30 pm and a children's DJ at 3 pm. The event is presented in collaboration with Institut For (X) --- En Hemmelig Klub was founded by Annabelle Nielsen and Kenn Munk Nielsen in London in 2009 but has been based in Denmark since 2011. They play with everything they can get their hands on and consider play as an art form. During Aarhus Jazz Festival 2025, they will be doing various workshops in our children and family jazz program; four jazz playgrounds and one workshop in connection with the street parade on the opening day of the jazz festival.
