Frøy Aagre is both a critically acclaimed saxophonist and innovative composer who is currently breaking through on the international scene. Last year's London Jazz Festival concert (with Kenny Wheeler as guest) received high praise and her band was chosen as one of six in the world to perform at Midem Talent Jazz in Cannes in January 2009. Her playing is marked by a clear, mellow expression and an unmistakable "Nordic" sound, while also displaying a strongly syncopated structure.
